May
"Derek Reese - Bringing Sexy Back" (Derek, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles)
June
"Short Skirt, Long Jacket" (Donna, Doctor Who)
July
"Recessional" (Ten/Donna, Doctor Who)
August
Started my first ever multi-chaptered fanfic (very close to just being my first fanfic if you don't count the couple of drabbles I started with ;) ), so Veronica teh evol vidding muse had to sit this month out. Veronica promptly goes on vacation to an expensive spa and charges it all to Rusty (PG fic muse) and Jessica Rabbit (NC-17 fic muse). ;)

October
Is so stunned I made another Lost vid, I must rest once more. ;)
November
NaNoWriMo, 'nuff said. ;)
December
"Bad Things" (Sawyer/Claire, Lost)
Total: 10!
Last year: 7 Last year's meme found here, if you wanted to see it. ;)
My favorite video this year:
Strangely enough, I actually made a lot of vids I liked this year, lol! ;) But one I just enjoy watching back is the Transformers one. ;)
My least favorite:
I don't actively dislike any of them but I can't hardly watch "Recessional" because I see just So Many Things I wish I'd done differently. :S I mean, I know why I made the choices I made but... *frustrated sigh* I just feel like it could've been done so much better! I've seriously considering doing a complete remaster of it one of these days and make different choices along the way and see if I like ver2 any better. :( ;)
Most successful video:
If you go by views, then it would be "Winter Sun." It's my second most viewed vid at YouTube. ;) If you're talking "successful" as in, what I feel like most successfully said what I wanted it to say, then I'd pick "Short Skirt, Long Jacket." ;)
Video most under appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I'm happy with the responses all of them got, quite honestly. Both of the T:TSCC vids got less views/comments than the others but I'd say that was a matter of the fact that a lot of my flist wasn't into (or wasn't into at that time) the fandom so the ones who might usually have watched and commented just skipped them. But that's a no harm, no foul sort of thing 'cause I don't expect anybody to watch a vid for a fandom they have no interest in! ;)
Most fun video to make:
The Transformers vid again, hands down. I've never had a vid just come together in a matter of hours like that. It has practically no effects (I just brightened up one explosion) and the editing was all simple cuts and a ton of motion use in the clips themselves (which I completely love ;) ). It was also the first time I'd tried vidding a movie AND had success using .AVI footage, so it was a great experience all the way around! :D
Hardest video to make:
"Bad Things" because I changed the concept 3 times and the song twice and had to keep scrapping and starting over again. *blush* But once I figured out what I wanted to say and stopped trying to make it SRS BISNESS, it came together. ;)
Video with single sexiest moment:
Well, "Derek/Sexyback" is full of sexay, in my opinion! ;) Though I think the moment I find rather sexy is at :42 where Derek gasps with the music. I just like it. ;) Other than that, I kinda loved the moment when Sawyer throws Claire on the bed in the implication that the "bad things" the song keeps mentioning are about to commence... :P ;)
The things I've learned this year:
I actually can vid quickly, I just have to try to let go of all of my baggage and not get hung up on making a vid "perfect" or, even worse, not get focused on making something that tops myself or even worst of all, get focused on making something that tops somebody else. :S 'Cause that way lies disaster, disappointment and total frustration. I have to accept that I can't vid better than [pick a name of any of the many vidders I admire and respect] and I never will. All I can do is vid the best that I can. So if I can focus on making a vid the way I would like see it, not hang up on finding teh perfect clip ZOMG! ;) and just freakin' try to have fun with it, then vidding doesn't have to be utter torture. ;)
Overall, I'm really pleased that I managed to make more vids than the year before and they were pretty much ones I liked in the process, so that was a real personal success, lol! ;)
Things to work on in 2009:
Fixing the above mentioned things because, just 'cause I know what I should do, that doesn't mean I'll do it, you know? ;)
Vid projects I definitely want to get finished this coming year:
This is technically more of a wish list of vids I'd like to do one day than a list of ones I'm definitely going to try to do this year, but oh well... ;)
Doctor Who:
1. Ten/Donna angsty AU - I started it before my computer had a brain aneurysm :( and so I lost what little I'd had done (which was mainly song editing). I'd really like to get back to this one. ;)
2. I had a fairly ambitious (for me) soopersekrit DW idea that I've been too intimidated to even really try. I'd like to make the effort to do it this year. And hey, if it fails spectacularly, nobody will ever know, right? *evil laughter* That's where the beauty of keeping it soopersekrit comes in, nobody knows if I DID it or not, lol! ;)
3. I want to vid something for my boy Nine and/or for Nine/Rose again.
Torchwood:
1. Something Jack/Gwen again. I have a few ideas but haven't really hit on one that makes me go ZOMGmustvidthis! But as soon as I do... ;)
2. An Owen character vid. I've chickened out on the idea a couple of times but one of these days I think I'll stumble across the right song and then this one will finally get done. ;)
Lost:
1. I lost both the little bit I'd started to "Psycho" as well as a Locke character study to the Big Computer Disaster :( and I'd like to go back and finish them again one day.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
1. Sarah character study - The song's overvidded but I'd still like to do it one day!
2. Derek/Sarah shipper vid - Just 'cause. ;)
Misc:
1. I have my first multi-fandom idea kicking around, yay! \o/ I don't have all the material I'm going to need but hopefully I'll get what I need and give this one a try before too terribly long!
Annnnnnnnnd that's pretty much it! ;) ♥!

Date: 2009-01-04 10:46 pm (UTC)I went looking for Psycho the other day and that's when I realized it was one of my "casualties." :( I hadn't gotten very far with it, though, so it won't be terribly hard to start over again, at least! ;)
*hugs!* ♥!
