DW 4x10 Midnight non-spoilerly picspam
Jun. 14th, 2008 11:24 pmI couldn't help myself, after I finished watching 4x10 "Midnight," I had to cap some of my favorite moments but decided to restrict myself to just the Donna and Ten moments at the start and finish... ;)
We start with Ten attempting to convince Donna to abandon her "spa day" and join him on a mad-cap adventure...

Ten: *expressive hand gestures*
Donna: *not buying*

Ten: *sweet talks*
Donna: *likes the idea of sapphire waterfalls and all that but in the end, spa day prevails*

Nine has been known to do some sweet talking over the phone as well... ;) :P
Now, for the middle of the episode which I will sum up in a non-spoilery way by saying A bunch of stuff happens! And which gave us this scene of Ten panting on the floor, which I think we can all agree is a good thing! ;)

Ten: "This one's for the fangirls..."

Also available in a handy (and quite pervy-looking O_O ;) ) icon! ;) Which is waaaay too big for LJ, alas. ;) I'm working on ways to cut it down that I like and will probably do an icon post eventually that includes an LJ-friendly version. ;) ) But for now, this one's good only for message boards or some place without a limit. ;)
Now, back to our regularly-scheduled picspam, already in progress...

I love this moment. No words are required between them.

She knows what he needs: a hug from someone who cares about him and whom he can trust. She throws both arms around him and he puts his right arm around her but leaves his left arm hanging at his side...at first.

Then he suddenly hugs her with both arms, startling her with his almost ferociousness.

But it's okay, she's got him. *fangirly sigh*

Again, available in a message board size icon... LJ friendly to come eventually! ;)

A lovely shot of teh Donna listening to him talk...

ZOMG, how much do I love this crooked smile? *fangirls*

I think Donna likes it as well. ;)

In this episode there was also a character named Professor Hobbes (dude, I SO have to tell that to Warren, lol! ;) ) who is played by David Troughton, who is the real life son of...

...Patrick Troughton, the Second Doctor!
Of course, this is hardly the first time in s4 that an earlier incarnation of the Doctor has had a real life child guest-star...

Georgia Moffett aka Jenny is the real life daughter of...

...Peter Davison, the Fifth Doctor! (On the left in the above pic with companions Tegan and Turlough ;) )
Anyway, I did really enjoy the ep, more than I thought I would considering it was "Donna-lite." Freaked me out pretty good by the end of it, I have to say! ;) I'm growing more and more torn as we enter the final 3 eps next week... Obviously, I'm ecstatic over Rose's return and seeing how it all plays out and DUDE, there had better frickin' be an awesome Doctor/Rose reunion or all of Mt. Fandom will go essplody and I'll help light the fuse, lol! ;) But I just hate knowing that Donna will be leaving in one way, shape or form. :( *clings to her*
I'm coming to realize that I'm REALLY going to need Ten to be cloned now, one to stay with Rose and give them a happy ending of some sort ;) and one to stay with Donna so they can continue on having their fabulous life together! And possibly one to continue on with the show so the other two can head off with their respective ladies, lol! ;) Yeah, that would work for me! :P ♥!

Date: 2008-06-15 09:52 pm (UTC)And, I know. They are just so, so perfect for each other. Absolutely lovely. I'm so afraid that he'll lose her, too. I DON'T ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN BECAUSE OF THEIR AWESOMENESS.

Date: 2008-06-16 04:18 am (UTC)I'm still holding onto the cloning idea: "Here's a Ten for you, Rose. And here's a Ten who can carry on with other future companions and incarnations. And here's a Ten WHO'S FREE TO GO OFF AND BE PART OF THE AWESOMENESS THAT IS DOCTORDONNA!"
Yep. That's my wishlist right there... Happily ever afters for everybody! :D ;) ♥!

Date: 2008-06-15 09:05 pm (UTC)Personally, I've reached the point now where I would totally accept a romantic ship between them (especially if it was a fantastic married-couple-solving-crimes thing like The Thin Man (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0025878/) movies *dies of squee at the thought*). They definitely have that same potential, IMO!
An angsty/emo sort of relationship wouldn't work as well, though. :S They need something that lets them stay light and fun as they flit from one mad-cap adventure to another, rather than to get bogged down in emo navel-gazing UST (pronounced oooooost, of course! ;) ).
That all said, though, I think keeping them "friends only" was BY FAR the better choice than bringing Donna in and saddling her with making unrequited!love!puppy!eyes at Ten like poor Martha got stuck doing for most of s3. :S *pets Martha* That did her no justice at all and I think the fans would've just had a big *Mt. Fandom essplody* thing if they would've wash-rinse-repeated with Donna. ;)
Or if they would've actually had it requited on Ten's part, then the Doctor/Rose shippers would've flayed them both alive O_O and that would've been just as disastrous. This way kinda lets the best of both worlds happen, where Donna and Ten get to run around having a great time together but not at the expense of Doctor/Rose. ;)
So I'm content to *squee* over their great relationship just as it is and search out what Donna/Ten fanfic or vids that I can find and leave the hardcore shipping to that fuzzy AU state of mind where I love the concept but don't necessarily want to see it happen right now in the show! ;)
I hope you'll get to see s4 soon! Especially in, like, the next 3 weeks before the big finale or there will be no way in all of Gallifrey :P that you'll manage to avoid being spoiled for whatever happens, I'm afraid. :S :(
*hugs!* ♥!

Date: 2008-06-17 06:47 am (UTC)Oh, I tell you, it's possible I would die of *squee* if they pulled something out of their hat that gave Rose and the Doctor a "happily ever after" plus kept him with Donna AND kept him on the show all at the same time! *fangirl daydreams* That would SO work for me! :D ♥!
