So why am I whining? Well, that would be because I haven't had the time to work on my icons in days and I really wanted to! *stamps foot* RL sucks rocks through a straw! One of those really tiny like coffee-stirrer straw things, too! And that's a LOT of sucking! *pouts* ;)
Okay, I feel better having shared that with you. ;) I actually did go through my Doctor Who footage and do a bunch of capping tonight, hoping to get some different pics to use for icons than I've necessarily seen before. And just getting some icony ideas (Word of the Day: "Icony" - (verb adjective) as in pertaining to icons; Ais was just in an icony mood that day, so she made a whole bunch of lovely Ninth Doctor icons. :D ;) ). So hopefully this will actually be a proper icon post of more than 2 or 3 icons, lol! ;) I figure I might as well go all-in on this one 'cause I don't know when I'll ever do another one! :D
It was also not a hardship to watch a bunch of Season 1 scenes! ;) *draws hearts around Nine* ;) There were actually a few things that I'd missed the first (couple of dozen :D ) times around or had just kinda forgotten, so that was very enlightening, too! I had some more ideas for animated icons but that's a kind of hit-or-miss prospect since it requires Baby Vegas to render as .AVI so I can use Animation Shop to open it, then save it as .GIF and Baby is often inclined to tell me "The proper codec could not be found to complete the operation" or some such when I try to save as .AVI. :S Vegas and its .AVI "issues" are pretty legendary. *sigh*
Ah well, maybe I'll just get lucky, who knows? :D
I've got 2 pretty big projects in motion right now, all of them related to LVI, but once I'm done, I'm hoping to get back to vidding again. I actually *gasp!* O_O have an idea for a Desmond vid! Not sure if it'll "take" or not but I might give it a try. It's to a song that's been used by some Big Name Vidders in the SPN fandom but I haven't seen it used in Lost yet, so that makes it fair game, right? ;) I also have an idea for Torchwood vid to a song that's been used by Everybody and Their Dog (as the saying goes... though I've never met a vidding dog before ;) ) for Lost AND Doctor Who. So it's out of the running for either one of those because I've seen several great vids to it in both fandoms. BUT I suddenly realized it could be used for Torchwood for Jack and...Gwen. Hey, don't look at me funny like that! I can't help that Gwen's footage fits the lyrics better than anybody elses! There is STUNNING shipwar wank going on right now between the Jack/Gwen and Jack/Ianto shippers, by the way. So much that people have actually been arguing that John Barrowman said his lines wrong in a scene with Gwen in the second season opener, trying to explain away what the Jack/Gwen shippers were *squeeing* over. *picture my Ianto "Don't harsh my *squee*" icon here* ;)
Anyway, it's not really a great time to come out with Jack/Gwen anythings unless you're really committed to that ship. Like I'll do Nine/Rose whether it's popular or not because That's My Ship, you know? But Jack/Gwen is something that, yes, I do like in theory but I'm not ready to throw myself on the giant spear of wank just to announce it to all fandom! :S So I'll have to decide if this idea is worth the potential wankitude that might fall on it, even if I only post it to the Jack/Gwen comm and my own LJ, you know? Wank can pretty much find you anywhere! *hides* ;)
Of course, there's always my Jack/Gwen/Ianto vid idea that ought to get everybody mad, lol! ;) Jack's a really good OT3 character, IMO, 'cause it's just not in his nature to "be domestic" for too long. So either Gwen OR Ianto (or whomever) would kinda need to have a third person in that relationship to hang out with and provide some stability while Jack's off being Jack! I've answered too many fandom meme questions recently, I guess, because I've apparently thought about that WAAAAAY too much, lol! o_O ;) LOL!
Welp, it's getting late so I should skedattle. But before I do, how about I crack open my pic files and see what falls out? ;)

Gwen: "ZOMG, fandom wank! Everybody stand back!"
Nine: *hitting head against door* "Not...fandom...wank...AGAIN!"
Ais: "Oh no, fandom wank is making Nine hit his head repeatedly! I must go comfort him."

Sam: ???
Dean: "Uh, not helping, Sammy..."
John: "Oy. You distract it, with things like this..."
John: (voice-over) "Give them cutesy coffee. Sure they'll get hyped up on caffeine but for a few minutes, they'll be soothed by the steaming hot ambrosia..."
John: (continuing) "Then hit them with something unexpected, something from other fandoms..."
John: (continuing) "Remind them of their nobler qualities."
John: "But if that doesn't work, surrender and hope they don't hurt you!"
Dean: "..."
Sam: "..."
Dean and Sam: *takes off running again*
*is attacked by fandom wank after 10 paces*
John: "Kids. They never listen. I wonder if Nine is done hitting his head against that wall?"
And the moral of the story is: Don't let fandom wank happen to you!
Okay, so the real moral of the story is: Don't random picspam when you're an hour past your bedtime. But the first one is true, too! ;)
