Avoid LVI - Virus infection

Ugh, my computer just got creamed with a virus at LVI (Lost Video Island, which I'm not linking you to for obvious reasons right now). I don't know how long I'll be down but I'm borrowing a computer to get out a warning to avoid LVI for now if it's a site you visit.

Hopefully I'll see you guys again soon! *fingers crossed*

How'd you pick it up? I've found I was virtually risk free for viruses after installing a few firefox add ons (NoScript, AdBlock Plus and Flashblock, if you're curious. Some little quirks to using, but it means I have ultimate control over every element I see while online). You might like to check them out if it was something you got from a page embed, though I doubt they'll help if it was in a download.

Aw, thanks, hon! I've been thinking about taking NoScript and Flashblock in addition to AdBlockPlus but this was definitely the thing that inspired me to finally do it. :S

Anyway, the virus came from our site getting hacked into. I'm not sure what they exactly got into our code but I know my Adobe reader tried to load when I went to our main site, which shouldn't have had anything that should've triggered Adobe. :S I knew right then that something had hit me, despite the fact that none of my security programs reacted, grr. >:[

Anyway, I jumped up and disconnected from the router and started scanning with everything I have and ended up finding with a Trojan downloader and two really bad identity theft viruses. None of them caused my computer to run strangely, which made them extremely dangerous then because if not for that Adobe reader popping up like that, I would've never known I had such vicious bugs on my computer until the next time I did my routine scans. And by then, they would've compromised every account I have! >:[

Hopefully now that I've got everything as updated as I can get it (since my computer is old, there's only so far I can take it) and have got it as protected with those add-ons as I can get it. *fingers crossed*

Thanks so much, hon! Hopefully my computer and LVI are both in much better shape now! ;) (If you were on LVI at any time from Monday until a few days ago, especially if you went on the main site, be sure to do a full scan for viruses/malware because they were the sort that didn't cause your computer to act strangely so you could be infected and have no idea. :S They were some seriously bad bugs! >:[ )

Oh man, that really sucks! O_O But I'm glad that you caught them, hon! And you're welcome for the heads-up, I'm just sorry that LVI was hacked and put us all in that position to be exposed to these ugly things! :( :( :(

It's all good, it ended up just being the two bugs and my antivirus got rid of them! Hopefully those hackers will leave us alone. >_>
